I have had the pleasure of getting to know Giselle Johnston over the past few months and I’m so excited to let you know about the Queer & Trans Childbirth Preparation Classes they’re launching with co-facilitator Kira Liss on Feb 10 & 11 at Kensington Midwives in Toronto.
Giselle works as a labour and postpartum doula who specialises in working with twins and overnight postpartum care in the west end of Toronto, Ontario. Giselle is clearly knowledgeable about birth and infant care, and obviously passionate about their work. I also had the fortune of interviewing Giselle for the Sex & Birth Support Person Training I’m launching in April with Doula Training Canada. Giselle’s understanding of the specific needs of communities of colour including queer and trans folks during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period puts them at a cut above the rest.
Giselle is also currently working on putting together a much needed anti-oppression workshop for birth professionals.
