relationship counselling & couples therapy

What’s it like to work with a relationship therapist?

Why do people see me? I take a non-pathologizing, non-judgmental, holistic approach to relationships that incorporates an understanding of how our relationships are shaped by the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. I believe there are limitless ways to be in relationship with ourselves and one another. I believe relationships in all its forms are legitimate and positive when practiced in a compassionate, caring, consensual manner.

Who do I work with? I specialize in working with women, 2SLGBTQIA+ including nonbinary and asexual folks, men, parents, pregnant folks, kinky folks, polyamorous folks, single parents, and sex workers.

What happens in relationship counselling?

Relationship counselling is an opportunity for individuals to explore their relationship to themself and others. I provide resources and information when necessary and incorporate aromatherapy when desired. We work together to navigate through these challenges so you can enjoy the kind of connections you want.

What do people bring to sessions? People work with me to address a number of relational obstacles such as:

  • blocks to engaging in loving, romantic, and/or sexual relationships
  • to understand one’s self or partner’s gender identity or sexual orientation
  • to gain a deeper understanding of personal needs and desires
  • to improve communication skills
  • to thrive after abusive or traumatic relationships
  • to develop self-compassion and compassion for others

What happens in couples therapy?

Couples therapy is an opportunity to strengthen your monogamous or primary relationship together with a therapist. I provide resources and information when necessary and incorporate aromatherapy when desired. We work together to navigate through these challenges so you can enjoy the kind of relationship you both want.

What do people bring to sessions? People work with me to address a number of relational obstacles such as:

  • blocks to engaging in loving, romantic, and/or sexual connections
  • to understand one another’s hopes and dreams for the relationship
  • to improve communication skills
  • to take the sting out of conflict

Complimentary 30min consult. Everyone can book a complimentary 30min phone consult to see if these services are the best fit for your needs. In these sessions you will have an opportunity to ask me anything and everything about what I offer including possible referrals if necessary.

Fees. Sessions are $150/hour. I am currently completing my Masters of Counselling Psychology and I am working under the supervision of a registered Social Worker and registered Psychotherapist. Because I work under supervision with registered therapists, my fees are often covered by insurance companies or you would be eligible to submit my receipts for a CRA tax credit on your personal income tax.
